YAMAHA YSL-6430 Tenor Trombone (Medium-Bore)

This is a YAMAHA YSL-6430 tenor trombone.
It can be used with a small shank mouthpiece.

In addition to the instrument itself, the following are included:
- Mouthpiece (YAMAHA 51B)
(For an additional ¥4,000, the mouthpiece can be changed to a Bach 12C (see separate listing), or for an additional ¥5,000, both can be included.)
- Hard case (for transport)

This is a model for intermediate to advanced players, often referred to as a professional model. It is equivalent to the current YSL-630 (list price ¥264,000).
This is a relatively rare medium-bore tenor trombone.
Furthermore, the bell is 8.5 inches, the same size as a large-bore trombone, making it a unique specification for a medium-bore instrument.
It features a distinctive barrel-shaped balancer, which is uncommon nowadays.

As expected of a higher-end model, it resonates beautifully.
It has a good response and a bright tone, but the larger bell provides excellent resonance and volume.
Personally, I feel the sound is like a compact large-bore trombone.
Its straightforward response means it can be used for a wide range of purposes depending on the mouthpiece combination.
It would be perfect for use in brass bands or for jazz.

The instrument has been cleaned with a cleaner and neutral detergent for this listing.
The slide has been wiped down to protect the inner tubes.

There are signs of heavy use, including scratches, dents, and discoloration, but these are at a level that does not affect playability.
The inner slide has some plating wear and is not like new, but the movement itself is good and playable.
(It slides to the 7th position under its own weight.)
