Bob Reeves, a craftsman entrusted with every stage of production at a renowned American workshop, has built a reputation over half a century as a trusted artisan for professionals in the United States. For the development of his trombone mouthpieces, he collaborated extensively with Noah Gladstone, head of Brass Ark. Based on an extensive collection of mouthpieces, the designs were ultimately inspired by early Mount Vernon designs, achieving high acclaim from top players worldwide, including members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

To minimize heat generated by friction during production, the typically 5-10 minute削り (shaving/milling) process is extended over several hours, with the final finishing done by hand, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to quality.

A key characteristic is its exceptional efficiency in converting breath into sound, leading many players to perceive it as having a smaller mouthpiece feel than its actual size, allowing for an easily produced rich sound.

The Mercury model, featuring a lightweight blank that further enhances Bob Reeves' inherent sound conductivity, was introduced in 2016. The Mercury blank, while lightweight, retains a substantial resonance and offers excellent breath support.
