These are Acavallo stirrups.
They are designed to prevent slippage and provide a secure footing.
The stirrup treads have a pronounced texture for excellent grip and are designed with openings to allow dirt and mud to fall through. They also offer a comfortable fit for the sole of the foot.
When hung, the stirrups are designed to face forward, allowing for quick re-engagement if your foot slips out. This design also prevents the stirrup treads from scratching the saddle during storage.
There are some minor scuffs and discoloration from use (the discoloration should be removable with a cleaning agent), but they are not noticeable during riding.
They have been well-maintained and are in good condition.
