Antique French Style Coopered Wood Stave Barrel Pitcher Brass Wine Cider Jug 10"

Bring rustic European charm to your collection with this antique-style coopered wood stave pitcher featuring brass bands, a flared brass pouring collar, and an elegant curved handle. Pieces of this form have long been associated with France and other wine- and cider-producing regions of Europe, where coopered wooden vessels were traditionally used for serving wine, cider, ale, and water. Their distinctive barrel construction and handcrafted appearance made them both practical household items and attractive tableware. Features: * Approximately 10 inches tall * Coopered wood stave construction * Brass bands, handle, and pouring collar * Stamped with the number 6 on the lower band * Rich aged wood with attractive patina throughout Condition Good antique/vintage condition with expected wear from age and use. The wood exhibits surface wear, finish loss, color variation, and minor separation between some of the staves, which is typical of older coopered wooden pieces. The brass has developed a natural aged patina with oxidation, tarnish, and light scratches. Interior wear is present from previous use. Because wood naturally expands and contracts over time, this pitcher is being sold primarily as a decorative collectible. It has not been tested for liquid use.
