To fill your grinder with pepper corns or coarse salt, simply pull the egg from its base to open the container.  Handcrafted in Channapatna, a town renowned for its toy-making craftsmanship, the SPICE GRINDER is made from fast-growing local trees harvested from non-forest and non-agricultural land. The gloss finish is achieved through the application of shellac—a nontoxic natural resin secreted by the insect Laccifer Lacca and dyed with natural dyes extracted from plants such as Turmeric, Indigo, Kumkum, Manjishta, Catechu and Ratanjyoth tree bark.
