I purchased this last year from Tsuhan Seikatsu, but I have one extra. I'm listing it in case someone wants just one.

When the outdoor unit gets hot, cooling electricity costs increase.
This product is a heat-shielding sheet that simply covers the outdoor unit exposed to direct sunlight to suppress temperature rise. In tests compared to when not in use, it suppressed the outdoor unit's temperature rise by 22.9℃, demonstrating ample heat-shielding power.
While competing products are mainly of the type where aluminum that reflects sunlight is bonded to urethane, this product layers PVC containing heat-shielding agents with glass fiber to enhance strength. Starting this year, another layer of PVC containing heat-shielding agents has been added, making it a 4-layer structure for improved heat-shielding performance. Furthermore, by increasing the height of the suction magnet on the bottom from 1mm to 3mm, the air layer has been increased, further enhancing heat-shielding power. This is a product exclusively handled by Catalog House.
It has been confirmed through weather resistance tests based on JIS standards that it can be used for 3 seasons (see test details below). Developed by Meiwa Gravure (established in 1953). Due to the 4-layer structure and improvements to the magnet, a price increase is expected in the future.
Heat Shielding Test
Based on JIS standards (L 1951/Evaluation method for heat-shielding materials), two samples, a heat-receiving body (black paper) covered with this product and only a heat-receiving body, were irradiated with an artificial sun lamp for 30 minutes, and the temperature of each heat-receiving body was measured. The temperature difference between use and non-use was calculated using the average of two measurements (December 3, 2023).
Testing organization: Japan Textile Inspection Association
- Based on the average normal values of sunshine hours in prefectural capitals and Tokyo from March to September (average from 1991-2020) announced by the Japan Meteorological Agency, the national average sunshine hours from July to September is calculated to be approximately 516 hours. If this is considered one summer, it can be used for approximately 3.8 years.
