This is an unlined kimono (awase), suitable for wear from October to May.
The fabric is a supple, soft, and slightly heavy chirimen silk.
The pattern is a fine same (sharkskin) Edo komon design in a grape-grey color on a pale grey background.
Edo komon patterns are so fine that they appear as plain fabric from a distance, making them very versatile and usable like a solid-colored kimono.

The lining (hakkake) is the same color (100% silk) and can be worn by people of all ages.
