Vintage Susan Portra Petunia Pig Needlepoint Canvas Cal Mar 223 w Guide

An especially charming vintage needlepoint design from Susan Portra's Minimal Series, titled Petunia Pig. Marked Cal Mar 223, this clever design features two coordinating pigs of the same size and silhouette, but each is painted with its own completely different pattern.  One Petunia wears a whimsical lavender, black and white repeating motif, while the other combines soft blue dots, aqua latticework and a striped gray and pink ear. The differences make the pair particularly fun when displayed together.  The original Fiber & Stitch Design by Susan Portra guide is included, with numbered areas corresponding to the painted canvas and instructions for the suggested fibers and stitches.  The design offers two finishing possibilities. The two pigs could be stitched and joined to create a two-sided pig pillow, or each could be finished separately. I think they would make an adorable pair of coordinating wall hangings, especially since the silhouettes match while the patterns are completely different.
